The vision of producing high quality, handcrafted products to exacting standards, on time and within budget drove Directors Paul Dobson and Gary Walker to establish DW (SALTHROP) Ltd in 1992.
Across the last 22 years the need for expanding production capacity has forced DW to relocate 3 times; leading us to ‘The Workshop’, on Salthrop Farm, our home for the last 10 years
The Workshop is conveniently located equidistant between Bristol and London, five minutes from Junction 15 on the M4 Motorway in the heart of rural Wiltshire, beneath the shadow of Barbury Castle, a historic Iron Age Hill Fort. The views from our first floor windows range over 30 miles!
Working with solid Woods like Oak, Ash, Maple, Walnut, Mahogany, to name but a few, along with manufactured Boards, we are proud of our Green credentials and environmental policy.
A team of 14 cabinet makers, machinists, polishers and apprentices (nurtured by our own training scheme) ensure not only our products but also the Craftsmen of the future meet ours and or customers exacting standards.
Collectively we share in excess of 180 years experience in providing the bespoke, versatile, expertise that our clients expect. Our ability to engage and listen to you, understand your requirements and then apply our passion, design experience and installation knowledge, earned over many years, is unparalleled.
The very best modern production methods, tools, glues and paints are combined with Traditional Jointing and Construction skills to bring your dreams to life.
All of our solid Woods and Boards must carry the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) or Programme for the endorsement of Forest Certification Scheme (PEFC) Certification, meaning that everything is responsibly sourced from sustainably managed Forests.
Via our onsite Polishing facility we hand, or spray finish, to any colour or finish of your choice. Popular paints are Farrow & Ball, The little Green Paint Company, The English Heritage Range, or any paint manufacture or colour of your choice.
We are appointed fabricators for Corian, Tristone, Hi-Macs, Hanex and Avonite solid Work Surfaces ensuring we can produce, and install joint-less worktops of the highest quality that will meet your exact, bespoke requirements.
As a client focused, environmentally responsible manufacturer we are also driving towards a Carbon Neutral Footprint. Hence surplus material is recycled within the workshop, wood waste is used to feed our biomass boiler and in the near future Solar Panels will be installed to further reduce our electricity demands. As we meet your needs today, we are constantly working to nurture and protect the future.
We bespoke every very aspect of your project to your individual needs starting at the initial consultation before proceeding to a working ‘drawing’ via the latest software. Only when the renderings fully meet with your approval do we proceed to the manufacturing stage.
Come and visit us at The Workshop, we will listen, discuss your ideas and offer guidance. Similarly, at any stage of production, progress can been seen and new ideas, questions and even amendments can be catered for.
It would be our pleasure to demonstrate that we provide the ultimate in bespoke cabinetry manufacturing, that our experience and flexibility is unparalleled and that a truly hand crafted product can be yours.
